Pole of Cold

Every year, the Pole of Cold hosts the International Festival, which starts with 1,000-kilometer long Yakutsk — Pole of Cold motor rally. The motor rally includes tours and visiting of museums, historical sites, cultural and Hiethnographic centres. It is an adventure full of extremes, as participants of the rally are to overcome steep ways up and down, dangerous notches and mountain passes.

TV Tumerous events take place during Festival:

• solemn performances
• fairs and exhibitions of traditional clothing, applied arts and traditional Northern cuisine;
• Reindeer Herders Festival
• reindeer sleigh race
• sports competitions
• ice fishing.

Ambassadors of good will — Santa Claus from Lapland and Ded Moroz from Veliky Ustyug — are constant guests of the Festival, where they meet Chyskhaan — Yakut Master of Cold.
